It has been a beautiful Valentine’s Day at school today.  The students and teachers made each hour special.  I can’t tell you how honored we are as a school to have you entrust to us your most prized possessions, your children, five days a week and seven hours each day.  

 

I pray that we as a staff steward this gift, opportunity, and ministry faithfully.  We will strive academically, physically, and spiritually, but I pray seldom without love.  

 

 I am reflecting on the words of 1 Corinthians.  Verses 4-7 stand out to me today:

 

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Winter Formal 

 

Our 9th-12th enjoyed Winter Formal last Saturday at Balsam Lake Lodge followed by Roller Skating. We give a big thanks to Mrs. Shulze for working with the Student Leadership team to plan this and a big thank you to our bus driver, Rich Fisk and our chaperones, Ms. Bethany Kalpin and Ms. Cassie Kalpin.  We are so grateful for such a beautiful bunch of kids. We are toll that they had a lot of fun and that they were on excellent behavior.  We are so proud of them and happy to show them off. They looked beautiful. 

School Choice 

Please remember to check out School Choice if you are a Wisconsin Resident!  If you have already been part of School Choice, please re-enroll. If you are new to School Choice, please check out the application on our website or call  or email the office with any questions. We are happy to help!  Application season runs through April 17th. Girls Soccer and Boys Volleyball 

 

It is time to register for our spring sports. Please check your email or stop in the office for the required forms for participation.  We are offering Boys Volley and Girls Soccer!

Registrations, physicals and other forms are due 1 week before practice starts.  The deadline for getting these in will be March 10, 2025. 

Moms in Prayer

 

We are looking for someone to lead Moms in Prayer on Mondays at 8 am.  If you have a heart for kids, prayer, and other mom’s in our school, this may be an opportunity for you.  Consider this in prayer and reach out to the office if you are interested or have any questions. 

100 Days of School!

 

Our kindergarten and first grade classes celebrated their 100th Day of School this week! Mr. Mielke and Mrs. Christians are so creative and their students were very excited!  This has become a fun tradition for these classes and we all enjoy seeing these young people reach and celebrate these milestones.  With 62 days left until our last day, we have lots of miles and celebrations to look forward to! 

 

Fifth Grade Sings for Chapel 

 

We were so blessed to hear the fifth grade class sing for chapel this Wednesday. They sang a beautiful song about the love of Jesus and invited parents to come listen. It was a special treat to hear their beautiful voices and enjoy a little extra company for worship and the message.  Thank you to Mrs. Mielke for working with these young people and teaching them so well!

 

We Need Your Recipes! 

 

The fundraising committee is excited to begin collecting recipes for a Valley Christian School Cookbook! Please collect your favorite recipes and submit them to  Fundraising@valley-christian.org.  More information will follow, but meanwhile be asking your kids what their favorite meals are and be ready to share.  

Important Vote in Wisconsin

 

There is an important vote coming up on February 18th.  The Wisconsin Family Council would like to remind us to get out and vote and protect School Choice.  

 

“Elections have consequences,” says President Emeritus, Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Council.  We are reminded that this elections’ consequences pertain to the future of Wisconsin School Choice.
