Greetings VCS Friends and Family! 

It has been a brief and cold week on campus.  With temps rising some, we have teachers and students who are very grateful to be outside with fresh air and lots of space!  

It was beautiful to come back on Wednesday morning to begin our short week in Chapel.  I was enjoying watching this beautiful and diverse group of young people together to worship and listen.  Kindergarten through 12th grade are together with teachers and staff filling the room as a unique body in Christ.  

My thoughts were turning to smiles and possibly even a little laughter. Trust me, there are times we are whispering to a young student to sit up in his seat, or to turn her attention to the speaker, or to please set aside some distraction, but we are also noticing when they are doing so well! 

This Wednesday’s wiggles seemed joyful.  I watched a kindergarten student dance and sing along next to his teacher.  I saw a very tall 11th grader bend down to chat with his younger chapel buddy frequently. I saw beautiful young ladies who used to be the “little ones” be obvious models to look up to.  

There was a presence of joy. And I had a moment about halfway through the message as I looked around the room and thought how very blessed we are “today.” These wiggles are small problems or no problem at all. The students looked protected and safe and happy.  We strive so often to “do everything” and so often to do everything “perfectly.”  But, sometimes our best offering is joy and not perfection. Often our hands lifted after imperfect mornings is most sincere.  Whether we are singing loud, or considering His Voice quietly in our spirits, the Lord knows and He alone is our audience.  

Praying you have a blessed weekend and continue to be reminded that as Nehemiah 8:10 says, “The joy of the Lord is my strength.”

School Choice

If you are new to School Choice, please check out the application on our website or call  or email the office with any questions. We are happy to help!  Application season runs through April 17th. Consider also sharing with others on your facebook page and by word of mouth! Thank you! 

Girls Soccer and Boys Volleyball 

It is time to register for our spring sports. Please check your email or stop in the office for the required forms for participation.  We are offering Boys Volley and Girls Soccer!

Registrations, physicals and other forms are due 1 week before practice starts.  The deadline for getting these in will be March 10, 2025. 

Moms in Prayer

We are looking for someone to lead Moms in Prayer on Mondays at 8 am.  If you have a heart for kids, prayer, and other mom’s in our school, this may be an opportunity for you.  Consider this in prayer and reach out to the office if you are interested or have any questions. 

We Need Your Recipes! 

The fundraising committee is excited to begin collecting recipes for a Valley Christian School Cookbook! Please collect your favorite recipes and submit them to  Fundraising@valley-christian.org.  More information will follow, but meanwhile be asking your kids what their favorite meals are and be ready to share.

• Check your emails for field trip forms and payments. We are planning diligently and excitedly! 

• If you are willing to donate copy paper, we will take it! With Education Fair around the corner we are going through it fast.
